A Clinic Aide in UNC Project is responsible mainly for maintaining cleanliness in the research clinic and laboratories and for transporting specimen from the clinic to the laboratory, under strict supervision of Supervisors, photocopying study and administrative documents, moving mail from office to office, receiving and directing visitors accordingly, and assisting in servicing/repairing/maintenance of office equipment

Main Duties/Responsibilities

Operational Issues

  • Sweep and mop the clinic and laboratory floors daily
  • Remove cobwebs from clinic and laboratory every month
  • Scrub the walls of clinic and laboratory every four months
  • Change bed linen daily
  • Dust clinic and laboratory furniture daily
  • Take precautionary measures, under strict supervision of Supervisors, in transporting specimen to avoid contamination

Management

  • Ensure effective and efficient channels of communication.
  • Ensure economic use of clinic resources.
  • Ensure safe custody of clinic resources.
  • Ensure faults are timely reported to Supervisors
  • Assist in other assigned duties.

 

Administrative Duties

  • Photocopy study and administrative documents
  • Laminate, fax and print documents
  • Administer office supplies
  • Move mail from office to office
  • Receive and send mail timeously and accordingly
  • Receive and direct visitors accordingly
  • Assist in servicing/repairing/maintenance of office equipment
  • Assist in switchboard operations
  • Assist in general office logistics including supporting roles in meetings, conferences, trainings

 

Generalized Work Activities

  • Handle and move Objects using arms and hands by installing, positioning, and moving materials
  • Monitor and control resources by issuing and storing clinic supplies
  • Document/record information by entering, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic form
  • Perform general physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving of whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships by developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time,
  • Keep personal safety and safety of others at the workplace,
  • Perform any other duties assigned.

 

  1. Qualifications and Experience
  • Malawi School Certificate of Education
  • Good at English Speaking and writing
  • From None to 2 years’ experience
