Modeling the Transmission and Control of Clostridioides Difficile in Healthcare Settings

Cristina Lanzas, DVM, PhD, is Professor of Infectious Disease in the Department of Population Health and Pathobiology and Associate Director for the Emerging and Infectious Diseases research area at the Comparative Medicine Institute at NCSU. Her lab focuses on infectious disease epidemiology and modeling of antimicrobial-resistant pathogens. She leads one of the interdisciplinary teams within the CDC Modeling Infectious Diseases Network (CDC MinD), a CDC network to support innovative transmission modeling in the area of antibiotic resistant infections. She is also the PI for an NIH Maximizing Investigator’s Award for established investigators in the area of antimicrobial resistance modeling.
