Mrs. Kamwendo joined UNC Project in 2004. Under her leadership as Laboratory Consultant and later Laboratory Director, the UNC Project Laboratory developed into one of the best laboratories in the region, with a track record of high quality service to clinical trials from HPTN, MTN, IMPAACT, and ACTG networks, as well other research sponsors and the general public. In 2014 she moved to the Management Team, and has served as Associate Country Director since 2017, over-seeing administrative and financial functions of UNC Project Malawi.
