Yuyang Tang, PhD
Assistant Professor of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases, Jiang Lab
Areas of Interest
HIV infection in the CNS
About
Dr. Tang’s main research program is to investigate the molecular mechanisms that manipulate HIV persistent infection in the central nerve system (CNS) and to understand the risk factors that contribute to HIV-associated neurocognitive disorders (HAND). Novel strategies are under investigation to directly target our newly identified signaling contributes to HAND and/or the reservoir establishment in CNS. In addition, she is developing approaches to screen the compound libraries for the ligands which specifically recognize latently infected immune cells for the eradication of HIV reservoirs.
