Title: Harnessing crowdsourcing & tailored messaging to address HIV testing disparities

Project Objectives:

Hypothesis: MSM who are younger, less educated, and do not identify as gay will have lower post-intervention HIV test uptake.

Aim 1: To identify subgroups of MSM with suboptimal HIV test uptake following a conventional mass media intervention intended for MSM in general;

Hypotheses: (a) HIV testing preferences vary by MSM subgroups, and (b) Tailored messages are preferred over conventional messages.

Aim 2: To elicit: (a) HIV testing preferences and (b) preferences for tailored vs. conventional HIV testing messages, for each key MSM subgroup identified in aim #1, using discrete choice experiments (DCE). (DCEs are a method to understand which specific attributes of a program most influence individuals’ willingness to participate in the program.)
