Title: “Validation of a Real time SARS-CoV-2 LAMP assay in Malawi”
Program Objectives: To evaluate the performance of SARS-CoV-2 RT-LAMP assay in comparison to SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR, the gold standard at COM, Blantyre.
Aim 1. To assess the sensitivity and specificity of SARS-CoV-2 RT-LAMP assay on retrospective samples in comparison to SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR. The assay will be considered acceptable for clinical field work if sensitivity and specificity are both> 95%.
Aim 2. To undertake real time cost analysis and turn-around time (TAT) for LAMP versus PCR.
