About

Nationally Dr. Van Le has served on the Editorial Board for the journals Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Gynecologic Oncology.  She was a Board Examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology for 18 years and editor for the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology PROLOG series. She was also the Society for Gynecologic Oncology liaison to the American Society of Clinical Oncology and served as a Scientific Editor for the British Journal of Ob-Gyn. Dr. Van Le edited the 12th and 13th editions of TeLinde’s Operative Gynecology. She is currently an Editor-in-Chief for Gynecology for the journal Ob/Gyn Survey and is an Editorial Board member for ASCO’s Journal of Global Oncology. She has been designated a “Best Doctors in America” since 2009 and a Castle Connolly America’s “Top Doctor” since 2010. Clinically she takes care of a broad variety of gynecologic cancers including vulvar, endometrial, ovarian, and cervical cancer as well as pre-cancers such as vulvar and vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia. Dr. Van Le has been the UNC site Principal Investigator for NRG/Gynecologic Oncology Group and Pharma-sponsored trials since 2006 and is particularly interested in clinical trials and the development of new therapies. She has participated in the ATHENA, PRIMA trials, AstraZeneca ENGAGE, Velia as well as SOLO trials for the study of PARP inhibitors and, has been PI for over 100 GOG trials. Additionally,  Dr. Van Le has been an International Mentor for the International Gynecologic Cancer Society Gyn Oncology Fellowship in Danang Vietnam since 2017. In this capacity, she travels to Danang to train the Vietnamese fellows in patient care, surgery, and administration of chemotherapy. Three fellows have graduated from the Danang site to date.
