Title: “The effect of the RTS,S/AS01 malaria vaccine on breakthrough cases of clinical malaria”

Program Objectives: This proposal aims to better characterize the protection provided by the RTS,S/AS01 malaria vaccine. We aim to determine whether vaccination results in less severe clinical disease in breakthrough cases of malaria.

Aim 1: Determine whether children vaccinated with RTS,S/AS01 who contract malaria have improved lab markers of disease severity.

Aim 2: Determine whether children vaccinated with RTS,S/AS01 who contract malaria have improved clinical markers of disease severity.
