Title: “Men’s role in transactional sex partnerships & HIV transmission dynamics in Uganda”

Program Objectives:

Aim 1: To develop and validate a scale to characterize distinct types of TS relationships through a mixed method approach more commonly used in anthropology called cultural consensus analysis.

Aim 2: To estimate the prevalence of TS and association with HIV among men using a dichotomous (yes/no) measure and the cultural consensus scale developed in Aim 1.

Aim 3: To explore social and structural influences motivating TS from the perspectives of men as providers and conditions through which TS increases HIV risk within partnerships.
