About

Dr. Sickbert-Bennett has served as the Director of Hospital Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina Hospitals since April 2017. In this role, she provides oversight and responsibility for the Infection Prevention and Hospital Epidemiology Department activities including surveillance, outbreak and exposure investigations, education, regulatory compliance, accreditation, and consultation. She also serves as the Administrative Director of the Carolina Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, leading a multidisciplinary team of ID pharmacists, ID physicians, project managers, and data analysts. Dr. Sickbert-Bennett is also a Professor in the School of Medicine, Infectious Disease Division, and in the Gillings School of Global Public Health, Department of Epidemiology. She is an Associate Editor for the American Journal of Infection Control.
