Title: “Household Air Pollution Intervention Network: Pediatric Growth and Development”

Program Objectives:

Aim 1. Assess height-for-age z-score of children born and raised in LPG households versus control households at 2 years of age. Air pollution has been recently proposed as a potential factor in growth
stunting; we hypothesize that growth stunting will be less prevalent in children from LPG households.
Aim 2. Assess 2-year-old developmental milestones using Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development. We hypothesize that developmental delay will be more prevalent in children from control households.
Aim 3. Analyze hemoglobin levels in children in experimental versus control households. We hypothesize that inflammatory biomarkers will be elevated in children from control households compared to LPG households.
