Title: “The effects of maternal depression and stress and exposure to mercury (Hg), lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) on behavioral development in children 36-48 months of age living in the Interior of Suriname”

Program Objectives:
Aim 1. Determine exposures to Pb, Hg and Cd in children 36-48 months of age living in the Interior.
Aim 2. Assess the dietary exposure to Pb, Hg and Cd of Interior children 36-48 months of age.
Aim 3. Evaluate the combined effect of exposure to Pb, Hg, and Cd in 36-48 mo. old children and postnatal depression and stress in mothers on behavioral development in these children.
