January, 2017 – This review highlights recent developments for HIV-associated malignancies in low and middle income countries and suggests that sustained investment within these settings can help catalyze a cancer care and research agenda that benefit patients worldwide.
May 2015 – HIV-associated Kaposi Sarcoma is the most common cancer in Malawi. This retrospective cohort study found that providing standard-of-care chemotherapy regimens from the developed world was both effective and feasible.
September 2014 – Using viral transcription profiling, this study demonstrates the existence of multiple subtypes of Kaposi Sarcoma lesions for the first time in HIV- and Kaposi Sarcoma-treatment-naive patients.
September 2014 – A case study highlighting the need to increase familiarity with multicentric Castleman’s disease among clinicians and pathologists in Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus endemic regions, and to develop high-quality diagnostic pathology services throughout sub-Saharan Africa.
