Fellowship to Faculty
Did You Know?
30% of ID trainees return to UNC Infectious Diseases? Many also find faculty positions in other medicine specialties in of the School of Medicine, and continue working with the Institute for Global Health and Infectious DIseases.
“I think fellows come back because the leaders have built a world class group of brilliant faculty, who are doing great things in North Carolina and globally,” Alumnus Dr. Brian Bramson explains in a story about specializing in infectious diseases.
“It’s also because of the culture, which is a little harder to quantify. Nowhere else have I experienced a supportive and collegial culture like this institution, a lot of which is exemplified by the ID Division. I’ve been other places where there are brilliant and accomplished people, but it’s not the same.”
