March 7 @ 9:15 am - 10:00 am

Amy Mathers, MD, is Associate Professor of Medicine and Pathology, Associate Director of Clinical Microbiology, and Medical Director Antimicrobial Stewardship at UVA School of Medicine. Dr. Mather’s research focuses on the use of whole genome sequencing to explore the molecular epidemiology of mobile genetic elements associated with genes of drug resistance, clinical microbiology detection of carbapenem resistance, and the use of rapid diagnostics to inform antibiotic stewardship practice.
