The Current State of the UNC Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) Program: Challenges and Opportunities

Joseph Stromberg, MD recently completed ID fellowship at UNC and works as a clinical ID physician at WakeMed in Raleigh. He previously worked as a science journalist at Smithsonian Magazine and Vox.com, and completed internal medicine residency at UNC prior to entering ID. His research interests include antimicrobial stewardship, systems design and quality improvement, and effective management of outpatient antibiotics.

Mary Catherine “MC” Bowman, MD, PhD is an Associate Professor of Medicine at UNC Division of Infectious Diseases. She is the director of the UNC Outpatient Parenteral Therapy (OPAT).
