UNC CFAR SBIS Spring 2025 Networking Event: Managing Global and Local Research Careers

Join the UNC CFAR SBIS Core for a discussion with UNC School of Medicine and School of Public Health faculty addressing how they made the transition from global to local or vice versa and how they have managed the process both professionally and personally. First with our main speaker, Dr. Sarah Rutstein, and later with our panelists: Dr. Kate Macqueen, Dr. Audrey Pettifor, Dr. Michael Herce, Dr. Brian Pence, and Dr. Lauren Hill.
Suzanne Maman, PhD, is the Associate Director of the SBIS Core and a Professor in the Department of Health Behavior. She is also the associate dean for global health at the Gillings School. Sarah Rutstein MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of North Carolina, Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases, Dr. Rutstein’s research focuses on translation of efficacious interventions into clinical implementation in resource-limited settings via behavioral and biomedical clinical trials and cost-effectiveness modeling.
