Title: The HIV/AIDS Treatment Cascade in Zambia and in Southern Africa

Project Objectives:

Aim 1: To characterize the treatment cascade from enrollment into care to retention over time in Zambia

Aim 1.1: use routinely collected observational data to construct the HIV/AIDS treatment cascade among HIV-infected patients seeking care

Aim 1.2: identify patient- and facility-level factors that may predict attrition at each stage of the HIV Treatment cascade

Aim 1.3: develop a standard methodology for describing regional and national level estimates for steps across the HIV treatment cascade

Aim 1.4: develop a monitoring framework within ongoing CIDRZ-supported sites to evaluate retention along the treatment cascade

Aim 2: To develop standard data definitions for each step of the HIV/AIDS treatment cascade, using regional data from the International Epidemiologic Databases to Evaluate AIDS (IeDEA)

Aim 2.1: collate existing observational data from the Southern African IeDEA collaboration

Aim 2.2: construct facility-level HIV treatment cascades for each participating facility

Aim 2.3: describe individual and facility-level factors for patient attrition regionally
