Hunter works in the Fellowships and Training Programs Office at the Institute for Global Health and Infectious Diseases. She coordinates the GME Infectious Disease Fellowship and manages external communication for training programs. Hunter completed a MPH in Health Behavior from the Gillings School of Global Public Health in 2020. Her research focused on qualitative research methods and the lived experience of type 2 diabetes and environmental barriers to healthy lifestyles in Galapagos, Ecuador. Hunter has spent time living and working in rural and suburban Ecuador working in small-scale community development and managing healthy lifestyle programs. She excitedly brings her passion for global health and project management skills to her work with IGHID. In her free-time, Hunter enjoys running with her Ecuadorian dog, growing her earring collection, and serving as Vice-President of the Board of Directors for the Chapel Hill Public Library Foundation.
