Title: Characterizing the Host Inflammatory Response and its Association with Respiratory Impairment in Adult Pulmonary Tuberculosis Patients Undergoing Treatment in India

Project Objectives:

Aim 1: Characterize the host inflammatory response to Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB), and its change during treatment, among adult pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) patients undergoing anti-tuberculosis treatment (ATT) in India.

Aim 2: Identify inflammatory markers associated with respiratory impairment (RI) in adult PTB patients undergoing ATT in India.

Aim 3: Explore the impact of HIV co-infection and Diabetes mellitus (DM) on RI in adult PTB patients undergoing ATT in India.
