Greetings from the Pre-Award team!
If you are planning to submit a grant application, please let us know at least 1 month in advance (preferably 2 months), so that we have time to meet our internal deadlines:
Reminders:
Most NIH funded research now requires a Data Management Plan. UNC’s Research Data Management Core is available to help you put one together, but they need to be notified AT LEAST 3 WEEKS ahead of your deadline. You can submit a request with this link: https://uncch-rdmc.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/2. We have seen the NIH reject Data Management Plans that were submitted prior to this service being available (and your grant will most likely get charged for their services anyway) so I recommend that you make use of them.
- If a Consultant works for another institution, there are additional guidelines that need to be reviewed to determine whether or not they should actually be a subaward. Our team can help you make that determination.
- An application can be delayed if we are waiting on subaward documents, so the sooner you can connect us with the subaward’s administrative contacts the better.
- All Senior/Key personnel (even subs) are required to have an eRA Commons ID and an ORCID ID.https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-19-109.html
- All participating institutions should have an active SAM.gov registration. It can take some time to get this processed, so please make sure that any new partners begin this process as soon as possible.
- For submissions on or after May 25, 2025, please continue to use the FY24 Biosketch format. Do not provide a signed Biosketch in the new format until further notice.
- All Funding Opportunity Announcements have been revised in alignment with Executive Orders. Please re-read through the requirements thoroughly.
