Dr. David Rosen is featured in a story from WFAE (an NPR news source in Charlotte, North Carolina), about mental health care in jails, and the lack of providers. Rosen’s team conducted a survey of the availability of health care in the jails of four southern states, including North Carolina. While the results have not yet been published, Dr. Rosen discussed the findings with WFAE.
“Really, nearly all of the jails say that they have access to providers,” says Rosen in the article. “But when you actually look at the number and the hours that the providers are actually spending on site, it’s really quite, quite, quite small.”
