Education
The Institute for Global Health & Infectious Diseases is committed to preparing the next generation of leaders to tackle the most pressing challenges in global health. We recognize that this requires exposure and training in a variety of disciplinary perspectives in order to understand the social, historical, political, economic, and biomedical determinants.
We strive to expand the global health curriculum across UNC-Chapel Hill in order to expose undergraduate and graduate students not only to critical, contemporary issues in global health, but also to the interdisciplinary framework that is necessary to analyze and address these issues.
Undergraduate—Curriculum in INTS
For undergraduate students, the Curriculum in International and Area Studies offers students an opportunity to major in International Studies with a concentration in "Global Health and the Environment."
Graduate Certificate in Global Health
The Office of Global Health in the School of Public Health offers a Graduate Certificate in Global Health. The goal of the certificate is to prepare residential SPH students to work in changing environments and with diverse populations, and to respond competently to the challenges presented by permeable geographic and cultural boundaries.
