Dr. Kashuba’s research focuses on the clinical pharmacology of antiretrovirals used in HIV treatment and prevention. Specifically, she has quantified the distribution of antiretrovirals into mucosal tissues involved in HIV transmission and acquisition. She is currently developing in vitro and mathematical models to identify antiretroviral tissue exposures effective at preventing HIV acquisition and modeling drug doses and dosing frequencies to optimize efficacy.
