Description: Jennifer Smith, PhD is a research associate professor at UNC in the Department of Epidemiology. She received her PhD and MPH from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Smith’s current research focuses on epidemiological studies of human papillomavirus (HPV) and cervical cancer worldwide (primarily in North Carolina, China, and Kenya), with a focus on prevention via screening or prophylactic HPV vaccines, on the sero-epidemiology of herpes simplex virus infections, and on infections in the etiology of cancer.

The seminar is sponsored by the UNC Department of Epidemiology and the UNC Lineberger Cancer Center.
